The Buffalo Bisons will enter the 2023 season with some new features that fans will be sure to love.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday at Consumer’s Pub at the Ballpark, Bisons general manager Anthony Sprague – whose team will open their season on Friday with a three-game trip to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before starting their home schedule on Tuesday against the Worcester Red Sox – debuted new concessions, merchandise and promotions that will be available to the public.
Some of the new food items include Alexandra’s Pierogi (with sweet cheese, kraut potato and bacon and potato and fried onion options along with “Polish Poutine”), Sahlen’s Smokehouse Cocktail Wieners (served with either mac ‘n’ cheese or with baked beans, brown sugar and bacon), chicken pot stickers, frozen chocolate bananas and McCullagh Coffee.
The Bisons have also partnered with Ilio DiPaolo’s to bring sauces, marinades and select entrees to the Pub at the Park.
It doesn’t stop there. The Herd has also introduced a mobile concessions ordering service that one can use through either a QR code or on the scoreboard to order their next meal from their phone. The team will wear an alternate jersey for select games featuring a Marvel-designed Bisons logo and many more new and returning ballpark promotions will be had throughout the 2023 season.
“It’s still tricky, even for us, to keep things family-affordable, but that’s what we try and do,” Sprague said. “We’re thankful to have partners like Sahlen’s and Alexandra’s and some of these other ones too now to allow us to try and keep the food prices and ticket prices as affordable as we can. But we still feel like you can still come out with a family of four and you can do it for under 100 bucks and have a great time.
“It’s not easy to do it, but we still think we’re the best form of family entertainment in town.”
