Mr. Over/Under:  Saints -3 over Carolina

As we stated last week, in most cases, defenses have the advantage early in the season. Last week only 4-games went over. It usually takes Vegas about 3-weeks to get a decent feel on the O/U totals. .Question for Bill’s fans….Why has it taken the local media over 2-years to see how immature & out-of-control Josh Allen is as a quarterback? Remember, Allen said this year, “I’m a football player first”. What a shame, as the Bills spent 2 first round picks on what they thought was a quarterback. Now we see why Stefon Diggs was upset at training camp. Enough with the excuses Josh. It’s your 6th season in the NFL. It’s a TEAM game. Grow up!

Carolina in on the road for the second week in a row with a rookie Quarterback. Last week the Saints picked off Tannehill 3-times. It’s a division game that New Orleans needs if they want to win their division. I just don’t see Carolina keeping up. Take the Saints -3 at home.

Man in Stripes: Northwestern/Duke Under 48.5

A second college under for me this year. Hold your nose for this one. There are two very good defenses and one bad offense here. I’m talking about you Wildcats when it comes to offense. I’m shocked the number is this high. Combined these two teams have given up 7 points all yearin the second half. Both teams will run it and the clock will keep rolling. If we stay away from the defensive scores I think we win easy.

Mano: Rutgers -6.5 over Virginia Tech

This Tech program isn’t the same one that Frank Beamer use to run. Transfer QB Grant Wells had a successful career at Marshall but he doesn’t have much help on this team. Tech doesn’t have much of a rushing attack because of a suspect offensive line. Greg Schiano and the Rutgers team weren’t supposed to be great, but they find themselves in a position to get halfway to bowl season with a 3rdwin this week. They’ve been dominant the first two weeks against two opponents that have something in common with Virginia Tech, no run game. The lack of production on the ground leaves Wells on an island to play hero ball (cue the Josh Allen reference). This Rutgers defense will feast and the home team should win by double digits.

Brutal: Colorado State +23.5 over Colorado

This game is in Boulder, which scares me a little.  They haven’t played each other since 2019.  Colorado State has had a week off to prepare for this one. Colorado State scored 24 points in the fourth quarter against Washington State. Washington State did blow them out but the Rams are going with the back-up QB that looked good late. I’m still not wild about the lines for Colorado. I think the Rams will score enough against the Colorado defense to cover this big number.

Philly:  Green Bay +2 over Atlanta

Looking at the week one results one of the most impressive wins was Green Bay dominating the Bears in Chicago. Jordan Love is officially the man in Green Bay. Even without his best receiver in Christian Watson, he played well, throwing for 245 yards and 3 TD’s. The Falcons looked solid against the Panthers but Ridder hasn’t been tested to put up points. He only threw for 115 yards and 1 TD last week. While he is a fine game manager, the Packers are much more of a threat to score. I’m rolling with the Packers with a balanced attack to get the job done.

Bob:  Browns-Steelers Under 39.5

This line started off at 42.5 and has gone down all week. The story of The Browns-Bengals game last week was how bad Joe Burrow looked.  If you saw the game Deshaun Watson was only slightly better. The Browns offense is Nick Chubb.  I think the Steelers defense bounces back with a better effort.  The Browns defense is for real. I’ve always liked Jim Schwartz as a defensive coordinator since his days in Buffalo. I see a lot of Nick Chubb and Najee Harris running all night here. I love both defenses and not wild about either offense
