Mr. Over/UnderBrowns -7 over Houston
Of the 14 NFL games scheduled for this week, the visiting team is favored in 9 of them. Green Bay has been dominate over Chicago the last few years and is a 4-point favorite. New Orleans has been dominate over Tampa Bay the last few years and is a 4-point underdog. I found this week to be one of the more difficult ones to pick winners, as 10 of the games have a 4-point spread or less. However, there is an intriguing matchup in Houston as Deshaun Watson returns to the town that drafted him, after being suspended by the NFL. He’s probably the most rested quarterback in the league and anxious to let it all lose. Houston can’t stop the run. Cleveland and Deshaun can run. I expect Cleveland to pour it on in the second half once Deshaun gets a feel of the game again. Take the Browns –7.
Man in Stripes: US-Netherlands Under 2.5 goals in 90 minutes
This is one of the most anticipated USA soccer games in their history. Coming off the win against Iran, the young USA teams plays the Dutch in the round of 16. I love this play. These two teams were 6-0 to the under 2.5 in the group stage. The Dutch are a very solid team with their attack but don’t have that much creativity, they build from the back. The USA has played three great first halves, but they have struggled to finish. We will see what coach Gregg Berhalter has up his sleeve lineup wise. This has the makings of 1 nil or even nil-nil.
Also like- No to both teams to score and draw thru 90. Enjoy the game and GO USA!!!!!
Mono: TCU -2.5 over Kansas State
Sonny Dykes and the frogs find themselves one win away from a playoff berth. They’ve won a lot of close games, mixed with some big comebacks. One thing they have proved is they can win anyway. They have a defense that is playing better and capable of shutting down anyone. They held Texas to 10 points. They made big plays at the end of the Oklahoma State and Kansas games as well. Now they face the big test of Will Howard and the Wildcats. Vegas has made the line small. Last time TCU adjusted in the second half and shutdown the Wildcats. I’m expecting TCU to pick up where they left off and make a big statement here. In Jerry’s world where once benched Max Duggan is now a Hesiman hopeful. The Frogs stomp Kansas State and set-up a date on New Year’s with Michigan.
Brutal:Tulane -3.5 over UCF
UCF is leaving for the Big 12 so this is their last game in the conference. UCF won a shoot-out earlier this year 38-31. UCF isn’t playing as well as they did when they first played. Last week UCF barely beat South Florida. South Florida is one of worst teams in the nation. The UCF defense is not playing well. On the other hand Tulane ended the longest home winning streak when the beat Cincinnati. That snapped the Bearcats 32 home winning streak. The Tulane coach was up for the Auburn job and didn’t get it so the team should be happy he’s staying for the moment.
Bob: Teaser: Giants +8.5 and Ravens -2
The Commanders are now the darlings of many bettors taking on the Giants in New Jersey. I think they are getting a little too much love by giving almost a field goal on the road. I see this is a field goal game that can go either way. I love teasing up past the key numbers of 3,6 and 7. Brain Daboll has done a masterful job this year keeping the Giants ahead of schedule in their rebuild. I’ll take Jones and Barkley to bounce back after their loss last week to the Cowboys.
I also look for Baltimore to bounce back after a disappointing last second loss to Jacksonville. The Ravens come home to face the most disappointing team in football in Denver. Nathaniel Hackett will be the scapegoat at the end of the year but the real problem in Denver is Russell Wilson. He’s has fallen of a cliff. I was worried about Lamar Jackson’s status but it look now like he will play in this one. Denver hasn’t scored more than 23 points all season. They’ve managed more than 16 points just twice. With the tease I basically just need the Ravens to get the win at home.
