Mr. Over/Under:Tampa Bay-Pittsburgh Under 44.5
While the Bills and Chiefs have to highest O/U this week at 54, you might be surprised to know that the Bills have only gone over once this season. Atlanta continues to be the only team that has covered the spread every week. While I thought Dallas was through when their starting QB went down in week one, they’ve won 4-in-a-row and covered the spread all four games as well. After a dismal showing against the Bills last week, the Steelers are home to Tampa Bay. The Bucs have only gone over once this season and Pittsburgh has a rookie quarterback. Excluding the poor showing against KC, Tampa’s defense has only allowed
10.5 points per game. At 44.5, I like the under in this game.
Man in Stripes: Minnesota -3 over Miami
These two teams are trending in different directions. Vikings have won three in a row. With a healthy Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson this offense is loaded. Remember it’s not a prime time game so Cousins is OK. Then we have the Dolphins that started out 3-0 but have lost both Tua and Teddy Bridgewater. Skylar Thompson will have his first NFL start on Sunday. Throw in the fact that Tyrek Hill is banged up and so are several of their offensive line. This could get ugly quick in South Beach. Vikings should win this going away.
Bonus pick: Sabres to make the playoffs +600, the drought ends at 11.
Mono: Arkansas +1 over BYU
Arkansas is coming off a really tough three game stretch. The Razorbacks have lost all three and last week it was without KJ Jefferson. They could not have a better bounce back spot than BYU. This BYU team is good but not great. They lost to Notre Dame last week and they will have a tough time this week against a hungry Arkansas team. Arkansas is one of the better teams in the SEC even though their 3-3 record doesn’t show it. They will handle BYU easily.
Brutal: Tennessee +7.5 over Alabama
Third Saturday in October means Alabama always plays Tennessee. This is the best Tennessee team since Tee Martin was quarterback for the Vols. Hendon Hooker is an absolute stud at QB. One thing that can hurt Alabama is a QB that can move. Alabama defense didn’t impress me last week against a poor A&M team. Alabama will try to run to protect their QB. Alabama pass defense isn’t great. Only wish this game was at night.
Bob: Baltimore -5.5 over the Giants
Let’s look at the two schedules these teams have played. Baltimore has played Miami with Tua, Buffalo, Cincinnati and New England. Giants have played Carolina, Chicago and Tennessee. They did beat Green Bay last week but I’m not a fan of the Packers. This is a real step up in class for the G-men. Wink Martindale the new Giants defensive coordinator loves to blitz. He is the former Baltimore DC for years. Lamar should be able to make some big plays against his former DC. Daniel Jones ankle is still not 100 percent. I look for the Giants to come down to earth a little this week against one of the better teams in the NFL.
